Demographic Studies (Studia Demograficzne) are a peer-reviewed, free and open access scientific journal of the Committee of Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, issued since 1963, and since 1999 as a biennial publication. The aims of the journal are: to contribute to the development of high-quality demographic research in Poland, to create a platform for the exchange of views on a European level, with focus on Central and Eastern Europe, and to provide necessary information to the public debate on population issues in Poland, Europe and worldwide.
Demographic Studies are addressed to the members of the academic community, public administration and all persons with interest in population processes. The thematic scope of the journal encompasses broadly-understood population issues, in particular (but not exclusively) from the fields of demography, epidemiology, economics, geography, sociology, political sciences and population statistics. Submissions of original empirical, theoretical or methodological papers, as well as of overview materials (in Polish or English) are encouraged.
